Love it or hate it, the internet is a necessity nowadays. Gone are the rumours that the internet will merely be a fad and will ride into the sunset with record players and Ford Pintos.
The internet is the primary method of research and communication today, especially for today’s emerging generation. Even in my own life, I can video-conference, check out the Canucks score, and order a pizza all at the same time simply from sitting at my laptop.
The Church (the big ‘c’ universal church) can no longer run and hide from technology and from the internet – it’s here to stay. To that end, we’ve launched a new website. We hope that it will serve a few primary purposes:
-to provide information about events and activities around the life of our Church
-to provide a glimpse of who St. Andrew’s is and what we’re all about to those who are curious about our church but have never stepped inside before
-to provide an online home for those from our church and our community to interact, dialogue, and converse about issues of faith and life.
So… what do you think? What do you like? What could we add? We want to make this website fresh, relevant, and up-to-date so that it can serve YOU about the community of St. Andrew’s Church.
From time to time, we’ll blog here about what we’re thinking about. It could be something as profound as some deep theological issue that we’re wrestling with, or as light-hearted as to why we think Pizza should be considered it’s own food group (because it covers all of the other 4 food groups). Check back often, leave comments, dialogue.
