Ministry Staff Team

Ministry within St. Andrew’s is a calling that belongs to every member of the congregation. Ministry is the “living-out of our faith” as disciples of Jesus and members of His Body, which is the church. All God’s people are ministers who seek to glorify their Saviour through their faith and worship, their witness and service, both within the fellowship and in the larger community.

Staff within St. Andrew’s are called by God to nurture, equip, release, and facilitate the ministry of all the saints. Our current staff includes:

Kerry McIntyre has been senior pastor at St. Andrew’s since 1996. Originally in the newspaper business in Manitoba, God won his heart and drew him into ministry. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Canadian history, plus Masters degrees in theology and the doctrine of the church. His passion is teaching God’s Word and pointing people to the freedom and grace found in Jesus. Kerry served churches in eastern Ontario and Toronto, and for ten years in Chilliwack before becoming an Islander. He and his wife Janet (who is also on staff) have been married for thirty-three years and have four wonderful children, all of whom love the Lord.

Jan McIntyre is our Parish Nurse.  A registered nurse who continues to work on a casual basis as a Community Home Care Nurse, Jan has served as St. Andrew’s Parish Nurse for the past eight years. With a burden of compassion for people who are hurting, Jan directs our congregation’s pastoral and healing ministries. While serving in a half-time position, she brings full-time desire to see people discover the healing and hope that Jesus offers. With her husband Kerry, she delights in her children and and in their three grandsons.

Sharon Bell is a newcomer to St. Andrew’s and thanks everyone who has welcomed and supported her in her position as administrative secretary. Sharon’s background has been as a self-employed desktop publisher for scientific and medical research, academia, technology, and the arts. In her spare time, she’s a stage manager for professional and community theatres. Sharon grew up in the Christian faith. Her former employment as administrative assistant at an international school inspired and instilled in her a passion for inclusion and to further her own spiritual growth. She feels that God has led her to St. Andrew’s, and she graciously accepts what may come her way.
