9:00 am service
Our first service is marked by a joyful dignity of praise and gratitude for the faithfulness and kindness of God to his people. There is a wonderful warmth of welcome for all in this service, and laughter flows freely as we celebrate all that the Lord has done for us.
Our music at this service is largely traditional hymns, sung from the hymn book and overhead projection. The one hour service includes time for members of the congregation to share words of thanks for God’s grace as well as our prayer requests for ourselves and for others. Our elders lead the opening part of the service, and members of the church share in the reading of the scripture. The pastor brings a Bible-based message of hope and encouragement, and overall, we sense the powerful move of the Holy Spirit at work.
People often arrive well before 9 am, in order to enjoy a time of quiet reflection prior to the happy commotion that begins as everyone arrives and greets each other.
Parents please note that while the nursery is open there is no Sunday School at this service.
A coffee hour follows after the close of the service in the lower hall, which provides a wonderful opportunity for the congregation to welcome visitors and newcomers, and share in a time of fellowship together. Many regulars from the second service arrive early in order to have a chance to visit with those attending first service. Our church library is always open giving folk a chance to check out the great resources on hand.
